Modern Art -
Modern art encompasses a remarkable variety of styles, movements,
and methods. One of the most important characteristic of this form
of art is that it strives to make the painting end in itself. Thus
it distinguishes modernism from others. It is by nature defiant
and this defiance is most apparent in a pursuit for originality.
Many people describe this form of art with what is radical and
distressing. The main reason behind this would be the difficulty
to comprehend the meaning implied or the complexity in understanding
the obscure connotation. Another key characteristic of modern
art is its appeal to modern technology and its squeeze of mechanical
methods of reproduction.
Modern art's celebration of art for art's sake was initiated
by French artists mostly associated with the philosophy of impressionism,
like Edouard Manet, Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Berthe Morisot
etc.
In the nineteenth century, there were some modern art movements
which started with impressionism. The impressionist painters mostly
preferred to paint outside and also studied the effect of light
on objects. Paul Gauguin carried impressionism to its limits applying
expressive colors to his paintings. Fauvism followed which used
simplified designs, while Expressionism was a German version of
Fauvism. Cubism, Surrealism, Abstract Art, Opt Art movement etc
are other movements which followed.
Many modern art works done by the famous artists are now reproduced
in its most effective way. We offer quality reproduction oil paintings
with or without frames in various sizes and affordable rates.
