| Bruestle was born in New York. He lived most of his adult life in Lyme, Connecticut. He studied at the Art Students League and then with the Academie Julian and Academie Colarossi in Paris. After studying in Paris, he became an illustrator for Harper's Weekly, 1897-1901. He is best known for his Impressionist landscapes of the Lyme area. |
