| Frost was born in Philadelphia, the son of the famous American Illustrator, Arthur B. Frost. John studied art with his father, and in Paris at the Academie Julian. Frost was working as a successful illustrator in New York when he left for the warmer climate of Pasadena, California. His works were painted in a very pure Impressionist style, and were shown at the prestigious Stendahl Gallery in the Ambassador Hotel. His California paintings are primarily Sierra Mountain and desert scenes. |
