Floral: Classical -
Flowers are so attractive and charming that it is not a wonder
that artists have taken great care in painting them all these
years. They are shown as garden beauty and also as cut and arranged
in vases as still-life objects. In addition to floral painting,
flowers have been used in many kinds of art including jewelry,
crafts, architecture etc.
During floral painting, artists usually concentrate on capturing
the delicate qualities of the flowers they see in front of them.
When giving color to the flowers, the painter may take care of
other aspects which add more attraction to the flowers. Vases
for instance, provide solid foundations for the flowers and may
also be decorative and enhance the overall artwork. But, however
successful the painting of a vase of flowers may be, a painting
cannot be regarded a success unless an artist thinks about all
different spaces in its composition. A painting includes everything
that lies within the entire area of a picture. So do the rules
apply in the reproduction paintings.

When artists tried to invent new ways of painting more unusual
than Impressionism, it eventually led to various kinds of art,
that we now call Modern Art. For instance, flowers painted by
artists who called themselves Cubists were quite different from
artists who called themselves Expressionists or Surrealists.
Artists like Heade, Henry Faxon, Elizabeth Castle, Katsushika
Hokusai etc have contributed much to the art of flower painting.
They were also the exponents of classical floral painting. Among
them, Martin Johnson Heade, had a different interest in certain
flowers which inspired him to paint. The giant Magnolia thus became
the theme of his late still lifes. While Heade depicted the orchids
growing in the jungle, he brought the magnolias indoors to be
enjoyed.
The classical floral paintings of Henry Faxon include Fruit and
Flowers, Outdoor Floral, Flowers under the Tree, Morning Floral
Arrangement etc. Elizabeth Castle had also contributed much to
the classical style of flower art. Floral Arrangement, Vase with
Flowers, Table Classic Floral etc., are the classical works of
Elizabeth Castle that are famous.
Rather than these depicted flowers being delicate decorations,
they have a powerful presence that dominates the picture in a
way that is almost different and unique as if they have a life
of their own. for example, Elizabeth Castle’s floral oil
paintings are natural, simple and have a special look of its own.
Joseph Stella had a special passion for flowers. But the painter
was never interested in painting them realistically. He had a
mystical style reminiscent of the Renaissance period. Among his
collection include famous flower paintings those are very much
on demand ever.
Our artists have done a great task reproducing the floral classical
art in an ethical and most original manner. The paintings are
available framed, at affordable rates and in various sizes.
