Street Scenes -
Painting is silent poetry, the poetry of imagination, assembled
thoughts and feelings. There are so many ways a painter can put
forth his ideas on canvas. It can be abstract, modern or any other
form where he combines color with concealed emotions on canvas.
Artists generally concentrate on one particular aspect of painting
where they can do their best and in the due course come up with
variations and modifications in the subject they specialize.
Street scenes is one such category of painting where artists
like Vincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky, George Ault, Camille
Pissarro and the like contributed most. They came up with fantastic
portraits of buildings on streets, houses, pathways, huts and
gave it a definite and appropriate touch of excellence. Even though
street scenes basically involve life in general, it also covers
different aspects and categories of life in a wider scale.
One example of street scenes can be Eugene Basan’s Outdoor
Café. It throws light on people, buildings, street path
way, trees and expresses reality in life as such. Chemin de la
Machine, Louveciennes, on the other hand gives an extraordinary
approach towards treating street scenes. It gives out a different
approach altogether towards the concept of street scenes.
Street scenes bring out a fantastic picture of street life in
a broad perspective. Some street scenes focus on the movement
of life as if captured in a second. It brings out a street picture
more focused and elaborated. Other artists who contributed to
the category of street scenes are Egon Schiele, William Glackens,
Alfred Sisley, Auguste Macke, Childe Hassam etc.
Paintings have a life of their own that is resultant from the
artist’s soul. It speaks volumes, despite the type and tools
used. Street scenes paintings give an array of quality works done
on effective canvas. The reproduction paintings on street scenes
also give out the same effect as of the original work.
